iPhone 4 Signal Problems Predicted 1 Week Before Release

Danish professor Gert Frølund Pedersen is an antenna expert at Denmark’s Aalborg University. He for saw the problems with the iPhone 4’s antenna system over a week before the product was released. In a June 10 interview with the professor said why he was not impressed with the iPhone’s antenna array.

“The human tissue will in any event have an inhibitory effect on the antenna. Touch means that a larger portion of antenna energy becomes heat and lost.”

So in other words, when you touch the phone the signals mix and are smothered out. Now over 90 percent of phones can have this problem when they are held in the right rather wrong place. In response to Apple’s suggestion on holding the phone differently the professor said ” phones should ideally have two antennae that act in a sort of redundant array, so that when one is blocked, the other can pick up the slack” (Engadget article). So Apple, what are you rather we going to do now?
