Microsoft – Windows Phone 7 – Confirmed

Dell Lightning

Well in the past Microsoft has had a lot of partners for its Windows Phones, but this line up is by dar the best. Among the carriers that already signed on (ASUS, LG, and Samsung), HTC and Dell have also confirmed that they will be making Windows Phone 7 devices. We are really glad to see Dell in this game because the streak is amazing. Back in the day (2000) dell made hand held PC’s they killed those, made a couple of Windows based phones, and then went back to just making computers. With the Streak out, we can’t wait to see what Dell does next. HTC, well they are of course going make something sweet. We still don’t have an exact release date, but it is sometime near the “Holidays”. Greg Sullivan, senior product manager for Microsoft, told Pocket-lint that they could expect handsets from Dell, Asus, LG, HTC, and Samsung at the launch later this year. That’s five launch handsets, some of which, Microsoft has already confirmed, will include a QWERTY keyboard, as well as a full touch screen experience.
