Verizon Says NO To Moto Droid Hotspot

Well to all of you Motorola Droid users out there that were hoping for a mobile hotspot with Froyo (Android 2.2), Verizon say you can’t have one. Verizon is saying that the Motorola Droid can’t support a mobile hotspot because of a lack of hardware. Droid Rooters know that isn’t true, with apps like MiWi. Verizon spokesperson Brenda Raney says that the Droid “doesn’t have [the] hardware to support a mobile hotspot.” This is not Motorola speaking. No further explanation than that, but we have a sneaking suspicion that Motorola and Verizon aren’t passing over the feature because of a lack of hardware, but because of too much hardware — namely, the Droid 2 and Droid X.
