BREAKING NEWS: Droid 2, Dell Streak, X10, and a PSP GoPhone

The Droid 2 has been spotted at Best Buy

Droid 2 will be sold for $199.99 on a new 2yr activation, or an astounding price of $599.99 if you already have or do not want a contract. August 12th is supposed to be the release date but it has not been confirmed by Verizon, Best Buy, or Motorola.

Add to the madness the Droid 2 R2D2 special edition, which is loaded with Star Wars clips and pics, is supposed to be out in September.
It will be unveiled soon at the Celebration V conference. Verizon already has a teaser site up and running here.

The Dell Streak is making another splash, this time in the United States
Unfortunately it is going to AT&T for the price of $299.99 on a two year agreement or $549.99 retail. August 13th (Friday the 13th may I add) is supposed to be the release date and if you want to make sure the Streak will be yours on that day please participate in the pre-sale tomorrow.

Even more bad news is the Sony Xperia X10
Sure, the price is fairly low for a high end smartphone, “only” $130 on a new two year contract, but its on AT&T. It seems to me that AT&T is really trying to grab Android phones like crazy now that the iPhone exclusivity will be out the door in January. I just wish that Apple surprised us with the Verizon iPhone only weeks before it happened, so that way AT&T would quickly drop like the signal on the iPhone 4. Oh sorry I’m getting off topic here…

But that isn’t the only story coming out of Sony Ericsson
PSP Go..Phone anyone? This “GoPhone” will have Android 3.0 Gingerbread if it is ever made, and I just don’t really see the point. I mean its a genius marketing strategy for targeting teens and young adults, but why have a PSP Phone?

In other news, the Australian carrier Telstra will soon have a PRE PAID Android phone
The HTC Wildfire will be heading down under, and for the price of $350 AUD ($317USD) our Aussie readers can buy it starting August 24th.
